About Looney Tunes

Looney Tunes is an American animated series of comedy short films produced by Warner Bros. It was known for introducing such famous cartoon characters as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Tweety Bird, Sylvester the Cat, Yosemite Sam, Speedy Gonzales, Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner, the Tasmanian Devil and many others. These characters themselves are commonly referred to as the “Looney Tunes”.

Since its success during the short-film cartoon era, Looney Tunes has become a worldwide media franchise, spawning several television series, feature films, comic books, music albums, video games and amusement park rides, as well as serving as Warner Bros.’ flagship franchise. Many of the characters have made and continue to make cameo appearances in various other television shows, movies and advertisements.

  • Bugs Bunny

    Bugs Bunny

Bugs Bunny is cool, confident and three steps ahead of everybody else. He still has a few surprising quirks, not the least of which is his choice of friends, including having Daffy Duck as his best friend. He is the main protagonist of The Looney Tunes Show franchise and has his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

  • Tweety

While Tweety appears to be an innocent, vulnerable canary, underneath his delicate, yellow exterior beats a crafty heart. Fun fact is that many people assume Tweety is female, in the Tweetie Pie short we learn that Tweety is male.

  • Daffy Duck

    Daffy Duck

Daffy Sheldon Duck is Bugs' best friend. Ego-maniacal and unapologetically flawed, Daffy has been staying with his best friend, Bugs Bunny for five years, until he gets ``back on his feet``, which takes time to do so. Daffy is a very daft and dramatic character. He is the deuteragonist of The Looney Tunes Show franchise.

  • Sylvester

Sylvester is Granny's pet cat. He spends most of his time attempting to catch and eat Granny's pet bird, Tweety. Sylvester, arguably one of the most “tortured” cats in history, appeared in three out of the five Oscar-winning Looney Tunes shorts. That makes him the company’s character with the most Academy Awards.

  • Tasmanian Devil

    Tasmanian Devil

The Tasmanian Devil (or Taz) is a former antagonist of the show. He is capable of becoming an unstoppable, whirling tornado of destruction. He also usually just acts as Bugs Bunny's dog, as Bugs refers to him as ``Poochie.`` Despite Taz being one of the most popular and iconic Looney Tunes characters, he has appeared only in five shorts.
